Thats harsh TransFatty...
I believe he meant an older performance, back when he had the single for whatever that movie was that made him famous.
Sorry, never seen that video /

harsh ?
he killed himself to live forever
therfore he should have killed himself on the oscars.

Point taken. What he did was way harsh. I guess a recent death is a little touchy, but no offense to you TF.

He killed himself because he was a dumb fu^* that couldn't get out of his own head. Not for publicity or to walk with Jesus.
He was a great song writer however and i know that somewhere someone has that performance. I want it. Anyway, whatever.

Point taken? You all are such ass kissers...

So many of these threads turn into dissfest BROOKE, I was just giving my opinion.
So, here goes:
F*** all you, you're all wrong.

He's getting super-hyped up @ the itunes store too...
Funny how a death will make you more popular to the corporations

The case is still open. He might have been murdered. His girlfriend was in the house while it happened. How do you stab yourself twice with someone else in your house.

i dig the name of the attorney:
Conrad Rippy.

Elliot Smith is a fantastic songwriter! Curse you all for speaking ill of the dead!
I believe he was made (more) famous by the film Good Will Hunting!

His performance was actually quite cool. I think it was the '97 Oscars.
He got sandwiched between Tricia Yearwood and a 50 piece orchestra and Celine Dion (yikes) and an even larger orchestra doing the "Titanic Love Hymn". Literally sandwiched - the performances were one after another.
Between that mess, in walks Elliot Smith, solo, in a white tux with an acoustic guitar. He sang "Miss Misery" and the place was almost silent until he began to walk away. 50 Million (or whatever) watching and he leveled everyone with his simple little song.
I thought that was pretty much the epitome of cool for quite sometime, and I wasn't really all that big of a fan of his.
I'd love to see it again, too.
Thanks for stiring up a good memory...it made me smile.
