"Save as..." *.BMP ???

Each time i try to save an image from the web (photos) it gives me an option to save as *.BMP instead of JPEG... What the hell? Which settings of my browser do i change so it works correcly again?
I'm on PC Win XP.

i think i just messed uo EXPLORER's settings somewhere...
I doesn't let me save JPEGs as JPEGs... It won't let me see source code of any site...

CLEAR YOUR TEMP INTERNET FILES
tools > internet options > delete files

Yes, trust Jevad. It happens sometimes and I'm not sure why. It's not a setting though.

it was doing my head in a few months ago then I cleared my cache, deleted my history and cookies and all my temp interweb files and it was gone

i am having same problems and i have deleted all temp int. files, cookies and history and i still only get .bmp option.
i have restarted 2 times.

your only option then is to kill yourself. or your computer. ill let you decide.

Go to Tools > Internet Options > Settings > View objects
Delete any damaged or incomplete files there.
That will solve your problem for sure.

Sometimes it is site dependent... Parts of our site only allow Windows IE6 users to download JPEGs as BMP, due to IE's non-standards reaction to our PHP query URLs (which we need to fix)...
