I have a client that needs credit card processing, which is totally alien to me. What course of action would you recommend to get this set-up?

Can't code for shite. Is they any plug-and-play ecommerce apps? I have a Mac, btw. Does Miva support Macs?

True that Industry! Authorize.net is the way to go.. But first you'll need to have your client get a Merchant account that is compatible with authorize. After that, use authorize.net's SIM (Simple Integration Method).

I hear OSCommerce is pretty easy to use.. but might require some scripting knowledge... Hmmm... I guess use Paypal...

You can use osCommerce out of the box - if you're happy for a very standard template. Otherwise, it's a bitch to modify if you're not a programmer.
I've just finished it on my site.. http://www.thepsychedeli.co.uk, for an idea..
