I've got an interview call from different state. the job is Jr. Designer.
Can I ask for the flight and hotel expensive?
or should I not ask?

if you do make sur you ask for EXPENSES.

Opps!!
Expenses.
Thanks.
I WILL ask for the EXPENSES.
I was just a little nervous about it since it's the first time.

In your interview process, mention it casually.
If you get the job, ask for expenses and see if you can negotiate relocation expenses.
If you don't get the job, demand expenses.

thanks so much for the advice.
I asked for it and they don't offer. They asked me to send my reel cuz they want to review my reel since I'm one of the candidates. If they go any further, then they will have conferance call with me for the greater detail.
I don't know if this is good for me.

hmmm..... be careful. we fly people out where i work if theyre from out of state or out of the country... but theyre very clear on what they'll pay for before the interview is set. i would assume most companies that do the same would have similar proceedures. it would be my guess that they would not pay for any artist under a sr/mid level designer.
they just probably think you want experience so bad you'll move and fly yourself out to another state.

Experience, experience!!
Sigh, I'm loosing my confidence.
I don't want to look for Jr. position forever.
I'm learning and learning everyday. Of course by myself since I graduated last september.

relax. many many people are jrs for a couple years. go work.. things are completely different outside of school. get some experience.. then get another job and move up. or, play it right and your bosses will love you. if you bust ass you can be a jr for less than a year/year and a half. that experience is good tho. being a jr isnt the end of the world.
but paying for travel and relocation for a jr position is stretching it just a little. they can find a jr locally. they usually fly out and relocate artists that has lots of experience. That is a smart investment. I just think especially if you say something before they go.. they'll say forget it. if they havent mentioned anything already theyre not plannign to give you a dime INHO.
But you should move.. enjoy yourself... learn A LOT. cheers!
