Okay, Illustrator 9 is fuh-reaking out on me. Nevermind why I'm using Illustrator 9.
Does anyone have an idea why a supposedly 700K illustrator file might BALLOON up to 540MB when printing? I'm printing via USB to an Epson 1280. Everything in the illy file is hand drawn, except for a couple of typed lines (one of them with a guassian blur).
It's an 11x34" document. But I've made a million of these and never seen a file get that big. I'm running XP Pro (ick).
Any ideas???

two things that can blow up an illustrator file are transparencies and overprinting colors.
check that you aren't using these methods if they aren't necessary.

that blur might be scrompin your stuff up. delete it and see how it prints. then you'll know.
make sure you dont have any objects hidden (either with a command or physically behind something)

maybe try saving it as an eps and print through quark?
