Howcan I get over there?... I'm going to a baptism in september, I live in madrid. Are there flights?....

You'll need to fly to London, then get to Waterloo train station. Jump on a train to either Southampton or Portsmouth (depending on the area of IOW you are staying) jump on a ferry, then get someone to pick you up or take a taxi, or a bus! I think the only airstrips on the island are used for recreational flying!

The ferry's well expensive by the way. And the train isn't cheap either.

Portsmouth is best.
There's a hover craft, and ferry. Train from London including ferry is about £40.

Nah, i'd stick to one way. Never to return!

thanks for the advice - the thought of spending more than five minutes in either southampton or portsmouth makes me depressed though, but I like the idea of the hover option...
