oh man, just reading this makes me so angry.. what the fuck?? god that is such a farce.. imagine that happening to an us citizen.. could've been reason enough to start another war.. stupid fuckers..

i had almost the identical thing happen in costa rica, since my paspport had 'damage' to it they made me wait in the airport for 13 hours then return to the united states... unreal
- loudubs0
so, no amount of research or a copy of Traveling to United States: The Sequel could have prevented this?
- Fanco0
isn't Spain cracking down on US travelers?
I've read quickly in the papers that some us citizens were being finger printed for no reason. and that the us is outraged. if this is true, doesnt it sound sorta hypocritical of the states to bitch?
dah well. i hope this doesnt start an other damn politcal debat. I'm growing tired of the same shit being thrown around.
- tomkat0
true. i hate shit being thrown around. always annoying to clean up the mess.
- 4cY0
funny, i started a thread on this earlier today, but it got thrown away by QBN as it contained 'material or reference not in the interest of QBN'.. i am clueless whatever filter removed my post, and i couldn't be arsed to type it all again.
in short:
this sucks, since renescent probably just went there for freelance-deals and not a work-contract as an employee? But still countries like the US can be difficult for this matter, tis known for it so next time get the paperstuff in order. sad but true.
Fortunatly within Europe(an Union) I never encountered shit like this.

the views and actions of our government and law enforcement do not necessarily reflect those of our own.
sorry about the experience joost, quite an embarrassment for the rest of us here in the states...

"It was the second incident of its kind in three weeks, after Brazil imposed new entry rules in response to similar rules in the United States for citizens of Brazil and other countries whose citizens need visas to enter."
wow, diplomacy can be this childish!
on the other hand, why not?
strike back!
- tomkat0
yep.
the only difference is - US is gonna make a movie out of it. haha.. drama qUeenS.
- 4cY0
really, a movie?
that surprises me!
NOT!
- 4cY0
lol @ pascii.
but so damn true.
- Skylark0
I know how that feels, exactly, but I also learned the lesson of do research of things like that before traveling.
- tomkat0
yeah, very true, pascii..
but it's a hard task to remind oneself of that - with all the bad publicity..

If you enter the US always tell them you're on vacation, anything else is too suspicious and you'll get caught in a cross fire of stupid trick questions.
I've been held for 6 hours because I forgot the Postal Code of the house I was staying and those fuckers didn't even let me phone my folks
This was in Rhode Island, customs are fucken bastards I tell ya
- Lop0
and Joost that's what you get for looking like Jude Law haha
get it, Jude Law hahaha
I'm so hungry
- ChumleyUK0
Joost is a bit of a plum for thinking that freelance work isn't accountable work in any country?! I wonder if he pays taxes on it too. If he does he should have known, if he doesn't, he shouldn't have mentioned it to them. However, the US is still acting like the world's teenager.
