Any recommendations. Are all cards mac/PC compatible?

Good idea to check which are recommended by Apple... Radeon 9000 was the best choice I found last year when I wanted to add dual monitor capabiity to my old G4. (ADC and DVI out , driving two displays at high-res)

I'm thing of getting an ATI 128MB 9200. My friend has the one called the all in wonder with the TV schedule, tuner and TIVO like capabilities.

the ati's are nice, just stuck the 9200 in a system here....its very decent
the 9600 is much better, more current, and the 9800 although pricey is mind-blowing

Do you have to have a Mac version of the ATI 9200?

Not really. If I had the money, I'd go for the ATI 9800 Pro, with 256MB of RAM

I have a GeForce4 Ti 4200 in my PC. Is it possible just to pull it out and plug it in my G4?

Watch out with older videocards and the new Panther. The latest OS doesnt't support any card that doesn't use open gl or something. I don't really need a fancy card to run my second screen, because I only use it to leave my tools. So I've had my ATI card running up untill 10.2, and when I upgraded to Panther it turned into a useless gameboy screen!
