somebody who brings your high profile gigs

i'm a bit confused on this one too...so is this the same as an agent a photographer or illustrator would use to source them work?
if so...never knew they existed for designers...and how does that differ from a head hunter?
- bug0
yea, kinda my thought too...just a fancy name for headhunter?
- save0
who cares...
- bug0
you do...otherwise why bother?
- Lop0
well there were threads dicussing this before, graphic designers need agents now or you'll starve

more info please?...so i take it the difference between the agent and a headhunter is that the agent takes a cut from the designer where as the headhunter takes a cut from the studio/persons hiring the designer.

damn! you got told!
hehe, just kidding. good explaination jk.
- Lop0
I thought headhunters would snatch you from your current agency job and offer you a better one, for instance.
- Warland0
fancy name for a salesperson who sells other people.

once someone gets busy enough with work, time becomes heavily important. as freelancers will know - in most cases they wear all of the hats...,, having responsibilities such as sales, account managing and production, with this in mind there leaves little room for designing and art direction.. and will tend to get bogged down
having a rep or a agent in place will help sift through work and land new and exciting jobs that fit the designers capabilities and experience, basically like a personal sales and account manager
