sounds like adulthood is sneaking up on someone. friends move, people die. pain and more pain coming, which is good because it prepares you for death. as the old man here (tho paulrand looks older ;), the only thing that gets old is your body - which really sucks - I'm still 15 on the inside.
stay flexible and travel light, it'll serve you well.

cool nick..

pete very true..
i dont wanna get old..

what i really miss is the environment that used to exist amongest web ppl... we used to a outcasts that lived the life advancement in design and tech..
you know... it used to be cool be a web designer.

I don't know where you work, but we have fun everyday at my office.
- mrock0
wurd to that shant. I think the fun days are still there it's jsut the company your with. You gotta play...

it really all depends on the atmosphere.. and your co-workers.. if you work with people who share your passion, and have the same idea of what fun is.. it it a beautiful thing.
if i were to work at a big faceless firm i would have 0 fun.. at the old job.. we probably had a bit too much fun.. now i work for myself and its great.. but it takes more discipline.
- bomy_dick0
i' fee lthe same Mr Dinky..
really.. i look at the 'youngsters' and i can tell the ydon't have the same pleasure doing their job and being creative like we were at the beginning, .. when i was 20 i was amazed and passionate..
i agree also with the other answer that say people today are looking for fame, whether they are selling t shirts or participating in a contest online they want fame... everyone wants to be thomas brodhal..
it's sad, really

peteski, I, paulrand, actually am the oldest human ever to come on NT, though I look preternaturally young and handsome

When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now.
Will you still be sending me a Valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine.
If I’d been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I’m sixty-four.
You’ll be older too,
And if you say the word,
I could stay with you.
I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday morning go for a ride.
Doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I’m sixty-four.
Every summer we can rent a cottage,
In the Isle of Wright, if it’s not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera Chuck & Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line,
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I’m sixty-four.

I moved back to NY after 8yrs in LA. All my friends here in NY are pussies. Lazy and always making excuses, but i know it's really their women that are controling them. no backbome punks I say. They make themselves older then they really are too...so sad.
BTW: I got a bathrobe for Xmas!?!
