I've been asked to create 2 templates for print to showcase a company's products. They are to be framed on the wall of the office. It's a small company and I assume the budget is an issue.
How much should I quote?
PS - I'm very new to the pricing game. Are there any places to reference?
Thanks All,
J

I'd say your looking somewhere in the region of say... $1.2 billion.

figure out a competitive hourly rate in your area and multiply it by the hours you estimate it will take you or $1.2 billion whichever is higher.

$1,000,000 USD

Don't let your client take the piss... $1.2 billion or it's a no go.

if I was commisioning, I wouldn't expect to pay for more than 2 hours to be spent on it.
but thats just me and I dont know exactly whats involved.

Also, when discussing the project with your client, make sure you drop professional sounding phrases like 'this has got legs... lets run with it'. He'll respect/pay you much more.

yeah thats true, offer him an 'integrated solution that is streamlined to provide the upmost optimum efficiency in dynamic and synergised results'

well, the fucking risk is in Asia they'll do it for $800 million.
if they are going to start a riot about it, make it $1 billion and tell them they get better quality.

is it an omni disciplined brand extension?

man i don't know why everyone has to exagerate so much. The guy is asking for a simple question.
I I were you. I would estimate how long it would take me to do the templates depending on what they want to see. Is it going to be clean and simple ? Talk with them to find out what it is that they are looking for. Lets say you think that it will take you 4 hours to do. Quote them for 6 @ your hourly rate. I would say $25 - $30 an hour.
Good luck
