i just bought a dvd burner, an nec 2500a. it's pretty new, and burns at 8x. the problem im having is that whenever i try to burn a data dvd with nero, it will burn and say completed, but when i try to put the dvd back into the drive to view the files it comes up blank.
i put the dvd-r into my desktop's dvd rom and the files came up, but i wasn't able to copy files off of it without getting cyclical redundancy errors (or something like that). i've copied quite a few video dvds using a program called dvd shrink and they work fine.
i'm using tdk 2x dvd-rs.
has anyone else had any trouble like this?

Have you tried burning at a slower speed, I don't burn DVDs often, but I'm wondering if it's a 2x dvd if it can be burned reliably at 8x?

you might want to try burning a dvd+r instead. I had a similar problem i just swithced the dvds and it works now.

What speed are you burning at?

I'd say you shouldn't be burning at higher than 2x speed if that is what the media is designed for. That's most likely what the problem is....
But you should let us know what speed you are trying to burn at eh?

i'm only burning at 2x. you can't burn any faster than the media allows with nero.
