As sad as that is, it seems she's a product of nyc public school education.
My friend actually helped some bleeding dude out of the tracks the other week. People were running away from the stop and everybody at the stop wasn't moving, they were just watching the guy lay there, conscious.

I seriously dont' understand how anyone can have that large a lapse of good judgement.
It's pretty clear in the NYC subways that descending to the tracks is not advised.

Material things can be replaced, but a life cannot. Why risk your life for a phone? I feel for her family and friends.

One of one three times I'[ve been on the subway in New York, and soeone got caought under the train... people were screaming... horrible... and when the doors opened there was blood on the white line... and we were near the back of the train... I never looked behind me and got straight above ground... legs were like jelly. I always stand well back behind the line in London now.

I nearly got in a fist-fight with some suited twat on the Waterloo and City Line... It was rush hour and packed, as you know. He thought he might push past me and I was inchs from the platform edge... nearly lost balance. I wanted to kill him....

There's signs all over the Underground telling people not to pick up lost phones. Something like 3 fatalities last year because of that.
The posters were designed by some well know designer. Hmmm can't remember who though.
