club photography

i take a lot of pix at clubs with a nikon 990 3.34 MP, but i see a lot better pix on other sites, such as the quality...im not a pro photographer but i know some stuff, any tips, links, or recommendations for better pictures, especailly the ones of huge crowds...

you should use the second curtain sync feature. this allows you to hold the shutter of the camera open letting the natural ambiance of the club lighting seep into your images, then the flash will pop to freeze the action. Essentially, it's a longer exposure with a flash pop.
here's an example of what that could look like, i took this one in a cab:

i dont think hes going for over exposed digital pictures. hes going for crisp and well lit and nicely leveled
