Flash vs Verdana bug?

Has anyone managed to embed Verdana for a dynamic text field in Flash without any problems?
I'm finding that there's extra space between every 'w' and the next letter. Doesn't matter if I set it to alias or not, I still get the extra space.
Any suggestions? Seems like it should work easily but it's just giving me needless pain right now.

I just tested it with Verdana at 10 and 12 and with device fonts turned on and off.
All of them had no extra space.
Are you using the standard Verdana?

i used to have a problem with verdana in PS.. seems like it corrupts from time to time.

why would you be needing to embed Verdana anyway?

Because you can't rely on everyone having it, and if they don't it reverts to Times New Roman, which is just lovely isnt it (no).

Yep, it's standard Verdana. 11pt, set to embed and alias.

Are yo using Verdana as the main copy font dstlb? If not, what is that little font i keep seeing?
- dstlb0
Yep, the main body copy. It's fucked though, looks all fuzzy and there are character spacing issues.
What can you see? Any chance you could email me a screengrab?

check your mail dstlb

Cheers, that's what I see as well. It's Verdana, but not as we know it.

It's done gone all blurry. Is your x & y set to .0?
- dstlb0
Yep, and it's container MCs are too. If I export it as Flash 7 it fixes the blur but there's still the problem with the character spacing that I can't suss out.

Actually, i'm having exactly the same problem with something i'm doing. It's not on the net at the moment. I've been wondering why it's happening too!
Seems to be something to with large blocks of text. I'm not using Verdana though.
