first they get busted for saying the G5 is the fastest computer in the world, now they're being busted for giving a false battery life on the iPod...

Haha! Priceless. Although, I hate all of this down with such and such brand stuff. Every company makes mistakes. Some stupider than others...

yeah man, i seriously wasn't trying to come down on apple on this one. they're just getting busted for lying so much. i don't know what their deal is.

..and I don't know what your deal is, abstrakt
don't you have better things to do?
- spiff0
Well, being informed about this, is important, so thanks. :-)

sweetasbro, i take it you don't care about the computer industry or a company that has a huge foothold in the design industry. and the only better thing i have to do right now is go home cause it's 5:39.

(feb 10 04)Hmmm... Do I sense some Mac fan anger? :P All big companies lie, all of 'em are full of son of bitches... And I agree with spiff, it's important to be informed about such things. Fuck big corps.! All power to the people.

Come on everyone. This debate between mac and pc is getting rather old. So what if apple boosted the claims of their products a little to make sales better. In my mind they produce some of the highest quality products out there.
I've owned pc's and macs' and while the pc's still win in just raw power the mac beats them hands down when it comes to style and reliability.
Like it was said before, every company makes mistakes. So give it up and find something better argue about.

my ipod is 2nd gen 10Gb and still charges for 10 hours a day two years later... sounds like ya 'all got a bum pod. I bought it- uploaded- turned it on- and it's been kicking ever since. I use it EVERY day thats 770 plus days so far...
- quik0
I've had three of them and the 3rd one just died.
Apple say that you only get one warrenty on the first iPod I brought (even though when I sent it to be replaced on warrenty they sent a bum one back!) they recommend I buy a new one, because its cheaper than repairing it.
I say... well, you can probably guess.

I got a diva mp3 player with 22mb built into the player which is upgradable to as big as you want through a compact flash card, which is the same one I use on my digital camera. Check'em out at:
http://www.mydivaplayer.com/html…. Doesn't have a recharable battery or any fancy i-crap, but it works.

that looks like a big piece of crapola

Mine is still going strong after 2 years, no problems here.
It's only a lawsuit anyway, they haven't won or lost it yet. Do you complain about McDonalds coffee being too hot just because someone tries to sue them for it? Or that Walmart bags are dangerous because some dumb hick supposedly overloaded them and the shopping fell on their trailer-trash foot?
Some people get a replacement battery, others will try and make a load of cash instead.

actually your right. But who cares, most peeps I know who have one hide them anyway from being stolen. This sounds just as good as any other player out there, it's small, takes one AA battery which last for about 12 hrs. Who cares what it looks like. Your buying for sound not for... well if your a maccie I can understand. Anyways, for whatever it's worth. You do have options... no suckers here.

"Do you complain about McDonalds coffee being too hot just because someone tries to sue them for it?"
this is not analagous. we are talking about a defective product, not an idiot consumer trying to make a quick buck.
anyway, those batteries are not that expensive. apple buys them in bulk for about $15 each. you can buy them online for about $40, but it's not your fault that the battery was defective. apple should replace it for you... after all, they do want your business, right?
