Thinking about finally getting a powerbook. To afford it, I would have to sell my dual 867 G4... I mainly do ps, flash, dreamweaver, some audio in reason, and after effects. Would it be feasible that a 15" pb could be my primary machine and run all of this? Or should I just keep the G4 and save up for the pb? Hooa!

i had a PB , it was cool. the screen was too small, and it was too slow though,

the current 15" Aluminum will do you just fine for all that, i use mine for everything you listed plus video editing, and it works perfect. the screen is great btw, the wide aspact ratio and resolution provide me more usuable space than my old crt.

That's the exact software we're using in school on the exact platform. Go for it. If you find you need more space on screen you can plug a monitor directly into the Book and have some dual action going on. Mmmm...

get it, im about to buy a new one too. Might even buy the 12 in as im doing a lot of freelance in diffferent offices and going travelling too. Plus its 3/4 the price of a 15in and u can always plugm another monitor into it...

i have a powerbook and a dual 867 just like you - i do a lot of running around and presentations elsewhere which the powerbook is great for - but i still rarely use it - there's so much more you can do with a desktop as far as upgrades - you can upgrade laptops but everything would be firewire.. portability has its ups and downs.. good book tho, i'd go with what you'd get more use from...

I was using a PowerMac G4 867 (single) to produce our rather large website (GoLive site file size 225MB, site data totals 3GB!)along with lots of image processing and huge amounts of mail etc.... so was not sure if I could move it all to a Powerbook... turns out the Powerbook 15" can handle it, and is now my main production machine. Seems about the same overall speed as the 867..
