im having problems with my css i think,, can anyone tell me why in mac my text is blurry and on windows, its not smoothed, i want it to be unsmoothed on both browsers

forgot to mention that im talking about my body text in the (text area) and the ,, uh.. menu links.

windows does not anti-alias text. therefore it is not smooth. it will never be smooth, unless you make all of the text into images.
as far as being blurry on a mac, i could only guess that it has something to do with being small.

are you use minml fonts or made for flash fonts? if you are then your text needs to be placed on the pixel, meaning it's X and Y position is 0. also if it's an 8 pixel font then it should be set in point sizes 8,16, 24 etc.

OSX will smooth everything I think... The user can override smoothing for small text sizes in Preferences, and also set certain programs not to smooth (Explorer etc).
But I did notice that some of my CSS-set text was smooth and some not on OSX, but both these bits of text were unsmoothed on Windows XP... strange..

os x uses quartz. its a rendering machine.

quite powerful. it renders all text etc as if it were in photoshop. aliased.
in my opinion its better than jagged html fonts above 12pixels. especially using h2 tags. the differeance is remarkable compared to a pc vs mac
