i'm going. are you?
- ********0
no. not since 91 or something. not worth it.
- ok_jason0
I am going. Flash Forward may have lost much of the 'coolness' that used to surround it back in the first year but there are always really good presentations and even more informative Q&A's. Much more about coding than design which really reflects where Flash is at..

I can't afford it...
Or maybe I can attend if I get a ripped copy of FlashMX instead.

Yea I'm very excited. I think it'll be informative despite some of the elementary seminars/workshops that are being offered.
So, what's hot in SF?

damn 500 bucks
I even live in SF and thats sounding like too much.
Do you get like free Sex with this.??
Broadway shows are 1/3 of this price. Crazy

Being from the East Coast, I'm wondering if Flash in the Can is a better, cheaper draw.

never been to either, but im sure the content will be quite similar.
they're site is much better than FF04's, though isn't that the same gradient bg macromedia uses?

if you go to flash in the can, go see jessica spiegel speak, she kicks major coding ass. give her some support!
i think i spelled her last name wrong again. shes gonna punch me

Went last year, and even if some people agree or disagree about the content of it, it is always good to see what else is up that you may be missing as in applications that people like Userplane develop. Even use it for plain out motivation. If that still doesn't seem like its worth enough already, then use it to be able to visit some good SF bars, if you don't already live in the area. I think I had a really bad runon sentence in there somewhere. apologies.

For a conference about Flash, their site sure sucks. I took one look at all that fuzzy text and closed 'er down.

the problem isnt that they have bad content there, (at the event) the problem is the price.
its not easy to justify dropping half a grand on it anymore.
if i had someone paying for it, id probably go again in a second (was paid for when i went). but these days the value just isnt there for me to jetset off to a flash conference
:(

not even to be an alkie for a night huh?
Just kidding, I know we can all do that at home.understandable....

They always ask for volunteers and you get a free pass for working a couple of 5 hour shifts watching the door of a room with your favorite flash star. I have never paid to go to that conference and have been to three. It is too late to sign up for voluteering at the SF FF, but I am sure you can email and ask about the NYC conference.
and yeah, Flash in the Can seems amazingly packed with good presenters. If I am on the east coast in April, I will definately take the train and see what that is all about.
