Hi, i'm going to travel to the states in the next few weeks. Because of the strong Euro i'm thinking about buying an Ipod there. What do i have to expect about taxes, when the price is 499 Dollars. Thanks!

usually 8% tax. but think. will you have the adapter to fit your electrical socket? if you do. will it work well?

i got mine from the states. saved about 150 euros.
had to leave the packaging there : ( so paid no taxes.
you can take of the socket and put a european one on it

I'm going to Washington DC visiting my sister.
BXCAR you had to leave the package there? Why that? That's shit if you want to sell it when a new ipod or whatever comes out. What would be if i would buy it there and send it via mail to my girlfriend ,let's say as a birthday present?

You have to leave the packaging so you don't get hassled in customs. You could avoid sales tax by having you sister order it off of the web and mailed to her house. Maybe.
