I don't think it would hurt to go more stylized to give it more character ie. over-exaggerate proportions, colors, use different angles (like the house from an ants perspective) etc.
It's something I need improving on - trying to defy my brain and exaggerate.

motion motion motion....
hardest thing to do is to capture motion, sadly the lady and her dog has none..... think about ways to add the element of movement.
Perspective is important too, I always get crapped on my my AD for "not enough motion, the edges are pinching, perspective, puuhleease be more careful blah blah blah...."

i may mess with this more in uhmm.. after effects and try to be a super star.. maybe then when things are animating.. it'll seem more full of life. but what about character development.. or the rendering of the house. does it look right or does it look kinda off to you. id like to learn how to render realistic textures like flagstone and rock in illustrator but its damn hard. any thoughts? examples..? files you'll let me look at?
