I'm trying to upgrade my PC with other HD that connects via IDE. My master is hookn' up via SATA. will I need to get a card because my os is not finding the second HD. I have switched around the jumpers and anything still nothing. I heard that it's possiable that the os see's them both as the master if I don't get a card

Tried the same thing a few weeks ago. WinXP kept looking for the OS files on the new IDE hard drive and ignored the SATA array.
I think if you wanna have this setup, you have to do it while installing your OS. If there's a way around it let me know. :)

You need to hit the F6 key during the Win XP installation to install SCSI drivers. Then you insert the floppy containing the driver...
check your mobo website
Mine is an Intel Mobo

Yeah but at what point do you let windows know you have a seperate IDE drive?
And is it better to have your OS on the RAID or IDE? I'd figure you get faster access to your paging file with RAID but who knows...
