g4 processor upgrade

I have an older g4 with a slower processor. Is it worth it to upgrade the processor?

Not really, because the system bus is what really makes the machine feel faster.

I figured that would be the weakest link. I only have a 350mhz so I was hoping to extend the life of it. Even as a second computer.
You don't think upgrading from a 350 to 800 or 1.4 would make much of a difference?

YES GO FOR IT.
I upgraded my G4 350Mhz with a Encore/ST G4 1Ghz. All I can say is that It fill like I have a new computer. It runs Panther and all the app I need very fast, and all this for £300 pounds.
And do not be too censured with the bus speed 100Mhz 164Mhz [64] diffrence is nothick to wrorry about.
I Oslo did a test with a freads Quicksilver G4 1Ghz with photoshop and other graphic app and you could not tell the difference in speed in real world test.
I did look on Ebay for a second hand G4 1Ghz and I could not find anything under £700 pound over here in the UK.
Go for the upgrade you will not be disappointed.

I'm looking to do the same. I have a 867MHz, want to upgrade to 1.4GHz. Is it worth it?
