I was watching C-SPAN the other morning and a commentator was talking about how the youth vote (18-24) is always mentioned in elections as the "group to watch" that will sway the election, yet their voting power never materializes.
As one of the older guys around NT (36) I'd like for all us old farts to encourage any young people we know or work with to make it happen this time!
Bug, pester and strong arm this group (which could be the most powerful out there) to get off there asses. Buy them a case of beer if they vote! Hook them up with some weed! Whatever it takes to get them to spend half an hour of their time to do something people all over the world dream of doing

hey abby..I was thinking along those lines...whenever I'm skating in Denver I always get talking to the younger skaters there about things and I was thinking I should really start pressing them about voting responsibly and for the right candidate...

You know what? I don't care what there reasons for voting for someone are. Neo is a neo-con? Vote for him! I talked to one of my younger friends about voting and he said "O.K. Dad..." Then he proceeds to bitch about how he can't find a job!
