how do you escape certain characters in actionscript? Like quotes.... in PHP you add a backslash before the character but what is the method in AS?

is there a way to escape quotes in the flash 5 player? I'm trying to avoid going to 6 if possible.

Thanks the backslash worked out, I had some messy syntax a moment ago and thought the slash wasn't working. Appreciate it.
