make sure you're renting "leon" and not "the professional" !
pistol opera... was dissapointing. if you've seen branded to kill (which is the prequel, and my favorite movie evarrrr) you probably wouldn't like it. if you haven't, then.. watch pistol opera first, enjoy it, then watch suzuki's other older films and realize how genius he was. (:

(jan 24 04)Kinda late (time zones) :D but watch 'Sexy Beast' if you have the chance. Great movie and outstanding 'psychoperformance' by Ben Kingsley. Very cool soundtrack as well, featuring various themes by UNKLE among others.

i'm sure this is too late but in case you come back to this, if you liked amelie then delicatessen and city of lost children are 2 brilliant ones also by jean pierre jeunet.
and if you like french films then la haine is one of my favourites.
leon is a favourite too.

just a note on Requiem for a dream. Why does the junkie sell his mom's 30 year old zenith for $10 or whatever and his girl is wearing Prada and has a $10,000 couch?
bogus.
Buy the soundtrack and rent Panic in Needle Park instead.
