90% of my typing might not make sense I AIN't GOT TIME to read over or take my time sorry but some people will benefit from this if they can read it.....people who are asking about new pc's
This will change in the next month or so but so many people are posting about buying computers like SGI or Dell, I'll help you out so you don't make the wrong decision.
OK in my opinion if you have a P4 or AMD Athlon 2300+ or up and have 512 gigs of ram you should build a pc cause what you have is good enough id wait till 2005 EVERYTHING about PC is changing in 2005 ATX will DIE new DESIGN for cases etc etc Id wait till then if you have the specs above....
IF YOU CAN'T WAIT and NEED a GOOD PC this is what you do.

INTEL P4 or AMD 64bit 3400+
Both great CPUS same clock speed in some cases/applications one is better then the other not by much....I would recommand it if your buying now to get a 64bit LONGHORN and WINXP64 are right around the corner and will be asking for 64bit .................unless you plan to update in 2 years or 3 mabe u should get a INTEL but INTEL ANNOUNCED that is releasing a 64bitx32bit CPU like amd in 2005...............motherboard ASUS is pretty well known trusted mb manufacture........there are others i recommand ASUS or go on FORUMS like toms hardware WHERE IT MAKES SENSE to ask pc questions rather then on NEWSTODAY!
ok now a graphics card i recommand the new RADEON 9800 Geforce has nothing on it NOTHING iv read reviews did research im doing u a favour not explaining the WHY AND THE WHY's...........HDD get a 200G hdd there cheap Western digital has good hdd no NEED for 2 if you get a 200G why get 2 60G hdd and then raid them the one 200G will be faster anyway............
RAM 512G if your more seriouse about stuff like 3d highend RECOMMAND 1G at most I USE XSI so i did my research talked to people and most of them use 1G for rendering purposes mostlye if its low end nothing more then 512 is needed...
sound card WHO cares most of them are built in unless your TIGHT about your music and need the best sound no need for a soundcard....onboard soundcard is good enough......backup storage I recommand a HDD from smartdisk there small uses same hdd like ipod i use my iPod for extrnal backup storage no disk storage ITS OBSOLETE FUCK ZIP and anything else DISK... don't need it. GET iPod for smartdisk for back up... a Adaptec FireWire/USB card ITS GREAT u have 3 pots for usb 2.0 and 2 for FIREWIRE... ROM I RECOMMAND THE LG DVD burner aswell IT SUPPORTS ALL THE FORMATS IF YOU DIDN't HEAR ME I SAID ALL THE FORMATS... mouse MS optical mouse Blue is a good mouse i use it its great... buttons and a scroll wheel button..MS MAKES GOOD MICE.....XP home XP Pro only if you wanna take network advantage and ISS if u wanna make a hosting from your PC... CLASSIC MODE NOT XP THEME makes sure you can atleast get 1280x1024 never use anything less or XP THEME if u have a monitor thats good don't buy a new one LONGHORN IS MENT FOR WIDE LCD's save for the wide LCD you will thank me when you can leave the side bar on AT ALL TIME!!!!!! SIDE BAR IS AMAZING AMAZING!HDD Serial ATA is in ribbon CABLES ARE OUT Serial ATA has cables that are thin cable and can be any size!
