Hey all,
I'm trying to print from my Mac OSX over a LAN wireless connection to a PC inkjet (HP). I've been looking around the web for solutions but nothing is concrete... The MAC and PCS are currently sharing a network. Any tips?

Try using Gimp_print.

but how do I get the mac to even see the printer which is hooked up to one of the PCs?

do you have the driver for the printer
- phirschybar0
Yes, I do. I have the original driver disc

the PC will have to state the printer is a shared network printer,...you should then be able to connect via TCP IP
this is theory though, has worked and not worked for me depending on the network....

so, in the print center I should find the printer with IP Printing or Appletalk or neither?
- brundlefly0
is it setup as a network printer? or just as printer off the PC?
appletalk is irrelevant

Its setup as a shared printer. It is connected to one PC but is used by the other PCs on the network. I just installed the driver on the Mac (OSX) which is also on the network. Just cant figure out how to find the printer on the mac.

the printer is on.... I dont think thats the issue...

OK... so using the HP printer selector utility, I am able to browse the network using TCP/IP. However, even when I browse the assigned IP of the computer connected to the printer, it doesnt see the printer. Anyone have any pointers here?

Somebody must have accomplished this.
