This is a round about way to do it... is to enable the ipod as a hard drive.. and just dump the mp3 files straight from the iTunes Folder into like a transfer folder you create on the ipod.
Then he he can just take the mp3s back off and put them into itunes... on his computer.. deleate them.....
then sync it up... and load them back up on the ipod the proper way
but there prob is an easier way.. but i know that this should work
