Instal Panther? yes/no (on my eMac G4)
Can I instal it over my 10.2 and keep all my programs and files?Thx.

kernal panics/no startup/lost everything/swore/cried/etc
10.2.8 for me
glad i backed up before i installed

Back up and then do a clean install, too risky to try and install on top of your existing stuff (unless you've backed it up).

do a clean install. I love it- much much smoother than Jag and more responsive.

I just upgraded over 10.2.8 ... no problems. I guess I'm living dangerously.

i loved it too.. till i got kernal panics, my airport only worked if i switched it off then on again after every sleep or start-up and safari kept quitting :(
exposé was fking good though.. and the finder was fast
and yes, i did a clean instal.

just installed it last night (clean install)... and i like it... however a bit dissapointed with safari so far...
