There are so many people pushing this CHTML/CSS sites...and rightly so..but why are they, in most cases, really freakin' dull?

Give me examples on how to ruin a top of the line brand easily? you say.

Companies don't seem to realise that you CAN have an accessible and usable website using html/css without it looking so DULL and uninspiring...
- jevad0
god the shell and ferrari sites are TERRIBLE!!
shocking...

Oh and ANY Asian electronics company. If you ever searched for drivers to a component in your computer, you would've learned that you WILL get lost in a jungle of beveled buttons and instead of just plain text - they have images with it.
'Orrible.

We haven't done a full blown HTML site for a while now...
thankfully...
everywhere I read about CSS, all I hear is that people have to use work arounds consistently... sounds like a nightmare?

work arounds are necessary if your remit is for browsers like NS4.
Which tends to happen on corporate cleints who say things like 'it must work on ALL browsers'
lowest comon denominator and all that

also, discovered earlier this week:
KPMG http://www.kpmg.com
Not only did they limit themselves to PC IE, they also used a nephew to build a site for this multinational business - and he tried to make it hot, only he didn't.
