ok so i rename a file that is an mp3 i want to change the extension to bin(file.bin) but i get (file.bin.mp3) and there is nowhere i see to delete the mp3 extension...how can i pull this off

Locate the .bin.mp3 in a folder and just press F2?

you need to have set up in your winodws pref to view file extension too... otherwise whatever you add will just get sandwiche between file and .bin
If you can find this then go into MS-DOS and rename it there
eg. REN file.bin.jpg file.bin
