Trying to add a script so that you can open a pdf file from the projector, and have it open in acrobat.
Sounds easy but I have conflicted help files and no success?
Any help much appreciated.

I try to stay far far away from Director.
Does anyone actually use that program anymore? I think it stinks.

You can use a third party extra such as BuddyAPI.
http://www.mods.com.au/budapi/
and work out if the end user has Acrobat Reader installed. Works using the 'file association'. Also its cross platform (Mac & PC).
Usage --- (as Behaviour)
on StartAcrobat, p_PDFFile
if ( baFileExists( p_PDFFile ) = 1 ) then -- check if file exists
set AcroExe = baFindApp( "pdf" ) -- see if acrobat is installed
if AcroExe "" then
baOpenFile( p_PDFFile , "Maximised" )
else
-- throw error msg here.
end if
end if
end StartAcrobat
Hope this helps.
Director doesn't smell too bad - esp. seeing as their releasing a better version of it soon...personally I can't wait!
But, then again, I am a multimedia freak.

I like Director, it reaches parts that flash cannot.
Ignorance breads hatred, so if you dont know how to use the software then you best keep shtum eh?
Exactly what hardcore says, or you could just open PDF's directly in Director using the PDF Xtra.

Cheers guys I'll try these bits out, I find any thing stinks after several hours of effort with little or no reward, but I'll keep putting the hours in.
I shall get the better of director.
