I know someone doing a p/t ma in photography with no ba

Sure you can, they are going to base it on your experience and also your talent. It happens all the time.

Well with that being said, you might still be required to take general standard courses and such that are BA type classes.

i know someone that got onto a film MA without finishing his degree... but he'd worked in a related industry for about a year or so.

As for the MA thing, is it worth it, I mean all that debt for what, agreed knowledge is king, but at what cost ?

depends on the course......RCA still pretty cool...shame they dropped their film course.

dont know of any US universities that would let someone just get a masters.
- canuck0
I think it's the same here in Canada, I'm pretty sure you need an Honors B.A. (four years) to get into a Master program.
- Mimio0
Not only do need a Undergraduate degree you usually need to take a GRE exam. Smaller schools usually just make you get department permission.

I can't imagine any university (at least in the US) would let you get an MFA/MA without a Bachelors. I'm sure you could take some 500 level classes without one but you really wouldn't be accepted into the Masters program.

That's why I asked for European schools.
In the US the rules of education is $. You can't go directly to C without going through A and B first. So everybody gets paid and you'll leave school with a nice red minus on your bank account
Education in Europe is more flexible, they base everything on talent, creativity and motivation.
So who knows the good ones?

what the hell is the point in doing an MA?? Work experience is far batter than a MA.
At the end of the day its your portfolio that gets you the job in the design world not what degree you got. I know people doing MA's and there work still looks shit.

People usually get MFA's & MA's in order to teach at the Universtity level or get a higher paying position requiring that degree.
