seagull? any then you wonder, "how come it doesn't look like it was dipped in a vat of poo like the rest of them?"

Living on the great lakes we get a lot of sea gulls, they're usually bright white with their grey feathered ends. But yeah, when they're born they're black grey and brown, until their main 'coat' of feathers grows in.... maybe you're seeing lots of young'n's or a different breed then here...

I live about 3 blocks from lake michigan on the eighth (top) floor of a building, I can always tell when it is spring because you wake up to seagulls flying around the roof making noise. Its pretty cool.

that's actually a really good question. they're always in the dumpsters here, but still white as snow. the pigeons on the other hand look like they've been fried in old grease. maybe they wash the slime off in the ocean at night.
