hi.
just finished installing an airport card into my powerbook. going through the setting of airport setup assistant, it ask for a password, but it won't accept any. despite that, i still see the airport icon on my menu bar, but cannot get internet connection working. can anyone offer any suggestions?

Are you connecting to an apple access point? or just something like linksys?
Are you sure you need a password? have you tried a blank field?
Need some more info.

i have a d-link wireless router. my pc is directly connected and working. i did try leaving the password field blank as well.

actually, i found the "signal level" it seems to be almost 100% which is good. so that is probably the connect, right? but i'm still stumped with why there is no internet connection.

you need to check the box marked "homo-erotic felching and clown activities ok"
that should do it.

Not clear what your problem is..there would be say 3 steps...
Can you see an Airport/WiFi network? (and is it the network you named in your router setup, or someone elses?)
Can you connect to that WiFi network?
Do you have an active internet connection through that network? (Can you bring up web pages?)

sys prefs, network,
make sure its on airport in the drop down selcition tool, click tcp/ip make sure it is on DHCP.
you may need to release and reconnect....
hope this helps, I am pretty drunk as it is my birfday, and I just got home from the bar.
