what browser do you primarily use?
(if you've done any research on mac browser statistics already, or know of helpful links, this info would be greatly appreciated.)
optional: how do you feel about microsofts implementation of its Internet Explorer browser on the mac os? had any major issues with it?
thanks!

use both safari and IE
- rabattski&rabattski0
ie only. used to use netscape. but these days most sites don't even bother to make it browser compliant. so had to switch to ie. netscape 7 seems to be ok, better than the old versions but is really really really slow.

safari is what i use.. but i test with ie and safari.
- rasp0
safari and i.e
- dstlb0
I mainly use Safari, very occasionally use IE or Netscape if Safari isn't compatible.
Test on Safari, IE, Netscape and Opera.
- auricom0
mainly Safari, test with IE and Camino.
- ganon0
safari, mozilla...ie for mac is dead...:
- toastie0
it still amazes me how many people dont use mozilla, and more, how many people think mozilla is netscape!
- mitsu0
good link ganon.
i expect that as more users migrate to panther, there will be less use of internet explorer.
- rabattski&rabattski0
by the time the current version of ie gets redundant every mac user will prolly work in osx allright.
- stewart0
going to panther in march2004
so still using IE5.0
(IE5.1 is uNsTabLe)and with websites with the Dhtml menu disappearing
i switch to NScape 7.whateverbut slow indeed

IE 5.1 and 5.2 on the mac are still, by far, the most dominant browsers. i still test all my sites in safari because i support their move. i support it because ie is no longer being developed for mac. if ie was still being developed for mac i would be a bit pissed. the last thing we need is safari AND a new version of IE to code for.
- rabattski&rabattski0
5.2? i thought 5.1.7 is the last one?
- rabattski&rabattski0
shit. osx does have 5.2
- toastie0
gavinnosler, IE is the only browser you have to code FOR, most of the others seem to follow standards pretty nicely.
- stewart0
yes, in your dreams toastie.
- ikbenvanrijn0
on mac i develop in safari.
test in IE, netscape, opera, mozillaon pc i use ie, mozilla
on linux i run mozilla
- toastie0
stewart: in any site i test, the only problems i seem to have are in IE. Most people think it's the other way around if they use Dreamweaver, which is of course tailored to IE standards.
- stewart0
yeah sorry
that was a typoagain:
"in your dreamweaver"
- mitsu0
"in any site i test, the only problems i seem to have are in IE."
that's obviously because you don't code for ie. i do because of the number of people out there that use it. while i'm all for the open source hippie revolution, i'd like to also accomodate the largest demographic of them all: ie users.
