A few years ago I saw a browser window that wasn't really a broswer window.. It had no toolbars it's presence was actuall gone the window you viewed the site throgh was however the designer intended it to look. It was done using Flash or Director along with Quicktime and some type of web browser. Does anyone know what Im thinking of? Imagine beign able to create any shape you wanted in flash or shockwave and making parts of the square movie transparent to give the idea there is not a square browser it's playing in and being able to display this over all other clients windows in what they would think to not be abrowser all they see is your shape? Please someone help me find this thing.

Yeah. Are you talking about the websites that are run through Quicktime? The ones with an alpha channel?

well its a curvy windowless type o thing in quicktime that just sort of floats on your desktop.
clever.. but not that nice to look at! ;)
might be the right sort of thing, but not the right site

I think the one you described was done by some friends over at tubatomic. Project name is "MovTV":

Yes this is exactly what Im looking for. Only the sites theat I saw where done with allot of 3D looking interface. But I like this one too. Not the colors or design but the way it works. So are they using Shockwave or is everything Quicktime? Im basically trying to figure out how to make something similar to this but dont know the actual process.

Peter This one is also nice but the one I saw was 3d and nothing worked but the design concept was cool. I like how this one has the burnt looking edges that is clever and just the right type of design for a browser that will let you do that. Bravo nice link. Now if anyone could just point me in the direction of how to go about designing something like this??
