hi, renascent i wonder how did you become so good at motion gfx, can u suggest me a good book and net tutorials, for motion gfx, tnx lots of respect
- renascent0
you can learn 3ds max and after effects.
the tutorials and reference guides that come with the packages are really good enough.

joost is actually a half robot half super clone. we grew him in a vat at a secret black ops lab in the tundra.
he is fueled by straight coffee and cigs.
he was a classified project focused on infiltrating large media *organizations*.
he was programmed from the ground up using linux. we embedded him with direct communication capabilities to converse with high-end motion graphic and 3d applications.
he shares a symbotic relationship with them.

sounds more like hideo kojima's character, solid snake.

actually Joost, have you ever used Bryce 5? Some of it's rendering techniques are simple to use, it morfs shit nicely, almost like a tweening effect in Flash.

it's tricky to rock a ryhme.
- renascent0
nope never used it, just Max for the 3d stuff. and a little Afx bringing it together.

a figment of the collective unconscious

Joost, do you use MAX's native renderer or something like Brazil?
http://www.splutterfish.com/sf/i…btw, I've been using this plugin with MAX... quite interesting output:

a few of my last works like Shinjitsu... and the Wired stuff was rendered with Brazil, the rest is all default scanline.
ive never used FR, i heard good things about it.

Hi Joost
Yep your work is absolutely first class!
Just a quick question if you've got a spare minute. I've been slowly moving my efforts over to motion graphics this year after learning Maya 5 and After Effects extensively as I work on a Mac (yes I miss 3dsmax from my PC days).
I was just wondering how you do those paint style draw-in effects with images. Going from a transparent shell to revealing the image. I've got a good idea how to do this in AFX using vector paint but could you maybe reveal a little hint as to how you can do this solely in 3D.
I'd understand if you'd rather not share your techniques.
Cheers,
Colin
