weird ps thing

    i just saved xpress pages as eps files, opened those in PS7. if i open those as a grayscale eps (all the work is black 'n white) all the plain txt is 65% black and the black in the images is 100%. if i open those eps as cmyk, all the plain txt is 100% black and the image black is build up in various cmyk combos (originally it's a ps7 file, in grayscale and it should be 100% black), if i convert those to grayscale, the image black turns into 100% black and the plain txt black turns into 85% wtf is going on here? and the weirdest bit, right now i'm opening them in ps5.5 as a grayscale and they are perfect. anyone knows what is going on? similar weird ps7 experiences?
