you also forget... Apple is developing the Video iPod currently.
So pretty much they just launched a product that nobody will buy
- unknown0
yes.. they do overinflate it for the geeks.
but i think that the mac geeks wont even fall for this one.
Besides.. they all prob have iPods anyway...
they will need to lower it to 199 to sell them
- grayhood0
but look how cute and little it is!
now you can fit it up your ass.

i rather guess their strategy goes a little something like this:
1) release 15G iPod for price of 10G
2) release minis that are cute and yummy but price only $50 lower than 15G
3) watch how people see the difference and pick up lotsa 15G iPods
4) when Christmas comes lower the price of minis so much that everybody and their grandma would get one
so, basically they are going to get shitloads of money if they calculate it right.
p.s. but the new RIO might be a tiny problem.

Everyone seems to forget Apple's pricing strategy every time they release a new product:
1) Release it at an inflated price to get all of the early-adopter apple geeks
2) Drop it to a reasonable price once other people have seen it and had a chance to play with it a bit and realize how cool it is
3) Drop it to a mass-market 'cheap' price to get the rest of us on board
Worked like a charm for the original iPod.

yeah, i agree with burt. the colors are not an issue, it's the price. the little silver guy is pretty dope tho.
no way any smart person would buy the mini if they could get the 15 with 11g more. the price will drop, eventually..
