yep. actually a standard ps filter. lemme look it up.

filter > stylize > extrude
they prolly have used it on different layers and the base image need to be fit for that kind of output.

no problem. use vaseline though. another thing, i looked at that image again. my guess is that the initial design, shapes, forms etc. are done in illustrator / freehand, vectorbased. these layers where then extruded in photoshop (also per layer). but could also be done in photoshop right away. but the basic image was quite abstract (colour / shape oriented).
