With prices like that I can't see how anyone can afford to live in LA. The salaries don't seem much higher than in the Midwest even.
That is a cool looking house! Good for you. I want to get a house and stop renting soon too.

nah, its not that great.
i remember my cousin getting arrested but then released for reasons of self-defensei'll be praying for your kids if you ever send them there with lunchboxes

that is such a cool house. humble with class. i want one just like it. lucky.
what games did your bf do?
- monkeyshine0
yeah, I'm a little light on sleep with two projects looming but unable to focus..not to mention the time it takes to do this whole process. I close on Thursday though so the torment shouldn't last too much longer.
The funniest thing is that this all came up kind of unexpectedly and I just quit my job in December to go solo. Leave it to me to do things in reverse.

CONGRATS.
I just bought my townhouse back in July. (Be ready for the joys and pains of homeownership)
Nashville must be great. I used to live in Cleveland, TN... not too far from Nash.
The property values here are so high in the Washington DC area.. my small townhouse that was built in 1976 cost me almost $250,000. (same thing in Cleveland, TN would have been about $75,000).
here are pics of mine. http://JasonMorrow.com/home
I am renting out 2 rooms in my place and renters are paying 90% of my mortgage ;o)

jase - you need photos with *your* furnishings mang!
- monkeyshine0
wow! Jason, your place is excellent! It looks huge. I have some family in D.C. (was just there xmas) and love it. I'd live there if it weren't so damn expensive.
Yeah, Nashville is great. It's taken some time to adjust to it (coming from Boston!) but I really do love it. It's not what people think at all. And yeah, property here is very very reasonable...and probably the only place in the country where a musician can actually get a mortgage. :)

Next time your in DC area... contact me...
how old is your home? and when do you move in?
- monkeyshine0
J, I definitely will contact you. My D.C. goal is find a better cocktail than the one I found in my last trip.
My house (did I just say MY?!) was built in 1948 but renovated this year. I close on Thursday and can start moving in on Friday.

i didnt know there was spanish style bungalo's outside of the pacific south west. i've never seen them in the mid west.. never seen them in the east.... never payed attention in the south.
is it a custom job or is there track housing in your new hood with houses that look a lot like yours?
- monkeyshine0
Shellie, I don't know the history, but for some reason there are several spanish style bungalows throughout Nashville, mostly East Nashville. There's a section called "Little Hollywood" that has several beautiful bungalows..and then, the strangest thing is that there are a few in some really bad neighborhoods that are kind of broken down (bizarre to see).
Mine seems to be the only one in my neighborhood and the guy who owned it (and restored) said it was a disaster when he got hold of it. Go figure.

your house is so hollywood! it looks like my apartment cept mine is green. thats pretty much all you see here unless you go east. in pasadena and south pasadena a bunch of mid westerners flocked out in the 1920's and built neighborhoods of craftsmen style houses. weird huh.
