p.s. i think it's something the images are all lined up and they shift on click . . and there is a mask on top which is animated and scrolled with them . .

it can be done with 2 duplicate mc's with something in them (images lets say)... they move at different speeds and inertia, but end up at the same spot. Each are under a mask. One mask is solid, the other is a pattern or something.. (your example has bars, so does mine). I threw one together, sorta quick and dirty.
see if this was what you were thinking.

looks great and i see what you've done . . but i don't understand why it won't produce the effect if you jump more than 1 picture? (ex. from 2 to 4 or 4 to 1)
thanks again jpea.

acutally image 2 to 4 does work . . it's just 1 to 4 or 4 to 1 . . odd!

oh, sorry about that.. re-download the file and it's fixed. Reason being is that there were only 4 frames labeled "mask2, mask3, etc... i just added more, up to mask9. just make sure that you have 1 frame more as a buffer for this type of oops.
