business growing pains

I work for a company (not designer related) that just went through allot of growth. and were having some growing pains.
I was hired on to do graphic design and wed development and am working on our E-Commerce site.
Well as far as i am concerned i am on track and things are going good. but today my Boss exploded at me because the site is not done. he wants to be "here" when the site, and the company, is still "back there". but he doesn't see anything except for a database that he doesn't understand and code which is greek to him
So My Boss has been having secret meetings (without me) about the site with a computer company who makes web pages. he also called one of my friends who is a designer and asked him to do some design work.
Should i just suck it up. get the site done and See what happens? or should i just start looking for another job?
has anyone here gone through this?
could you offer me any advice?

wait and see what happens is my advice, but this kinda' shit always happens. Generally, at least IMO, because of a lack of communication. That always screws shit up. The fact that he has been having meetings behind your back is not good though. That's a bit dodgy mate.
