I switched the second 10.3.1 came out, I had no problems with the upgrade whatsoever.
expose alone is worth the upgrade, takes about a week to get used to having it....once you do it is a great time saver.
Font book is meh....
filevault... mehI am of the philosophy that if it aint broke don't fix it, but Panther aint broke.

font book doesnt compare to atm or font reserve at all
all it is is an alternative to dragging and dropping fonts into your library.
you can organize the fonts within it but it doesn't affect how fonts show up in other applications
you can preview fonts in it.It honestly really doesn't do anything at all.

Panther is over priced nonsense, even though I waited in line for it. However it does have some wonderful features like Expose. Coming from a person who works at an apple store i've had more people come in with complaints about 10.3 and the install than almost anything in the past. If you have the money, go for it. But back up your data.

Font book is great if you keep under 300 or so font faces, which I do, but I hear real bad bogging stories from people with over 1000 faces....
