All new music sucks major ass rim. Sorry for being the negative weasle of this group, but 99% of it is shite IMO. It's all the same yo yo, bling bling trash. So sick of it. Whatever happened to musicians wanting to be original?
Long live the 60s, 70s and 80s!
Hence, my favorite record for this year, on the other hand, is the GTA VC soundtrack.

jox you're right. I don't think I could even name 5 albums that came out this year.
If anyone's into funk and REAL hip-hop (no bling bling ish) then check out wefunkradio.com!
Oh and does it piss anyone else off when they attribute the whole "izzle wizzle" speak to Snoop Dogg??
- jox0
Yes! Absolutely - that's a great site.
Thanks for taking my side. I was preparing for major yelling :)

Oh wait, I like the Yeah yeah yeah's. And Aesop Rock's Bazooka Tooth album came out too. I haven't heard much from it but I like most of his stuff.

Jox, not ALL new music suck ... there are plenty of really good music out there but you have to work a lil' bit to find it, because they are mostly not mainstream.
Watch the independant disc company and stuff like that.
Just look at the bands people name in thread like this one, many unknown name come up and iam sure there is many good stuff in that. This is not commercial-mtv-radioedited-masse stuff.

hail to the thief was good but it seems too easy for them to just make "good" music.
room on fire. same old strokes with a new layer of depth. i cant say no.
um?
dizee rascal is just...weird. and I think people pretend to like it so they can like something thats "original".
the rapture is cool but i think it actually came out in 2002.
music sucks.
- corin0
I hear what you're saying about dizze i3i2and0n, i saw the end of a clip on TV & loved it, bought the album, then said to myself what the fuck? But a day later I realised why it had that sticker about winning some music prize on the front. It takes a little getting used to. but its werth it, makes you realise how boring and unoriginal everything else is. I admit alot of its attraction has to do with the fact that it is so different, but it makes you think about how similar so much music is, and its fucking refreshing to hear something that hits you in the face with what seems like a complete disregard for what has come before hand. I also liked the fact that the vocals and the music were equal doses of original.
