I think a hi-res version of that image will turn up some serif info but I wouldn't bet you more than 50p.

It is an extended face, clearly. the closest, given the resolution, I would gather is perhaps Akzidenz Grotesk. though the ends of the letters seem rounded, which throws it. could be cutom
