Should I go with a SONY 24" TV or a cheaper 27" Inch tv from some off brand?
- jevad0
whats teh quality and sound like of the other one? if it's a good or close to the sony and you're saving a good wedge - then don't slam out just for the sony name!

thats the thing. i hear sony tvs are a bit more than just a name. thats why i have the dilema i suppose.
i'd rather have quality 24" over mediocre 27" :)

toshiba 27 is about the same price as a sony, I love mine.

We bought a cheaper brand, it exploded. Now we have a Sony, as yet it hasn't exploded.

Don't beleive the hype about Sony, they are not necessarily great TV's... We have done some work with Toshiba in Japan, and apparently they look down upon the quality of Sonys tellies.

I bet quite a few Sony employees look down on Toshiba TV's as well though.
I have a Sony Wega 32 inch. Its great, but the Toshiba Model that is comparable is nice as well.

true...but the conversation I had was in no way biased, they genuinly believed that theri hardware ws superior...
I'd never buy a sony tv again anyway

gotcha james.

I also have the 32 Sony Wega, one of the best purchases i've ever made. Toshiba would be the only other TV that I would look into.
Magnavox stuff use to be pretty damn good, but nothing lately has impressed me.

damn man, That thing is bulky!

it looks and performs beautifully though

Bang & Olufsen is beautiful shit. Many friends have their speakers.

Sony doesnt make bad products...period

Sony advertising really works as people think it is a premium market leader, when its the better mid-range brand

james,
do you know how much that B&O system cost,
i would def go with the sony
B&O systems are for a certain kind of individuals
the one that got cash

Sony is good. Worked for years with Philips, they even say the same thing. They're the industry benchmark for price and performance. Sony High-Def is light years beyond any other picture out there. Although, most people will admit Sony has some quality issues.

I was watching a program about tellies on TV the other day and the picture quality on that B&O didn't look very good really.
;P
