OK... I have a client who just gave me 500+ images in one folder. The images are all about the same dimensions. I need to resize ALL of them to certain specs....
There has got to be some tool to automate this process. Photoshop action? Anybody know a good one?
Peace

you're right - an action + automate > batch and after that you can take a long lunch break

doh.. this is new to me. Oh my god. How much time i can now save.
I have a question myself. IS there an image renaming tool out there that could be used in this context eg: i have 50 images that are all of a house and i want to name the images. like "name"_"number"_"monthyaer".jpg. eg: house_01_1203.jpg
It would be handy after a photoshoot on one subject to be able torun the images through an app which you can specifiy the name, then the program place auto number incrments and then the date, for each file.
has this been made?

There's also a very cool and very small program called "Advanced Batch Converter." Does all kinds of things like resize, crop, color manipulation, addition of text, renaming etc. in a huge variety of formats and options for each format.
It's a relatively cheap program and it's about 3mb big. I use it all the time when I don't feel like being assed to wait and open PS.

Like jk0b said - just use an action and automate. You have a lot of control over the naming convention.

I have a great one called Total Commander. I'm sure its PC only but its freeware.. do a search for it. Great for renaming.
